All of our maps are based on the Map Grid of Australia (MGA) which is the official coordinate projection for use with the Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994 (GDA94). Most GPS units or smartphone apps will record in MGA coordinates, if not available then select WGS84 which is close (approx 1m difference).
Our maps are produced as geospatial pdf files. The advantage of this format is that the files can be opened by anyone using Adobe Reader (> version 9). The files allow the user to measure distances, areas, line azimuths and find and mark positions using lat, long coordinates. The user can also draw on the map and add comments using Adobe Reader. The various layers can be turned on and off as desired and multiple copies printed out.
The maps can be loaded onto your iPhone or Smartphone using the app PDF Maps. This will allow the user to see their location on the map and record activities, including photographs, at that location. For larger properties (> 100ha) the maps can be provided in RMaps SQLite Database files suitable for Locus Maps.
Digital overlays can also be provided for both Google Earth and Google Maps.
